Fresh Almond & Date Milk (with a bit more time to prepare…)

ingredients:

  • 10 almonds
  • 1 or 2 dates (depending on how much sweetness you like)
  • 1/4 tsp each cinnamon, cardamom, ginger
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cacao powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp tahini (optional)

And a slightly quicker version…

  • 1 cup almond / oat / rice milk
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp each cinnamon, cardamom, ginger
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cacao powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp tahini (optional)

method:

 

  1. Soak almonds and dates overnight in a cup of water. In the morning, blend until smooth then pour into a pan to warm up.
  2. Add the cacao, spices and salt and whisk to mix and froth up.

for quicker version

  1. Add everything to a pan and whisk to mix and froth up.

Tip:  For new mums,
you can add 1/2 an avocado to the blender for an extra dose of fats. A quick breakfast and really helpful in breast milk production.
